APT - The Home Tour

Welcome to APT La Fayette.

Video by Maurice Li

Since early 2018, APT La Fayette has undergone many evolutions. When I first entered the apartment, it belonged to an elderly Parisian woman, ready to move to the countryside to be by her grandchildren. From what I have been told, her story isn’t uncommon: after years in the space (she had lived in it since the 40’s), and years of collecting (she had already emptied most of her belongings in the ‘before’ photos below) she as ready for a change.

That’s where I was very lucky.

I walked in and saw the chevron hardwood floors, ones that hadn’t been touched since they were laid in 1910. I saw the beautiful mouldings of roses and summer flowers framing the ceilings, and then the marble fireplaces in each room.

A few months later, the apartment was mine, and I began the process to make it my own.

I’ll be sharing the details of the design and transformation in upcoming posts. If you’re interested in following along, sign up below for our newsletter for updates!
